Addie's notes: This simple baby blanket knit pattern is so versatile and works up quickly!  I love the idea of a fast open knit center with a peep-through liner.  You could use a colorful cotton, with a soft fleece liner for a more casual blanket.  Or dress it up with super soft luxury yarn and a satin or silk lining.  Instead of using silk and removing it for washing, I would recommend making the lining out of a soft satin that is machine washable.   You may also want to play with a contrasting color combination like ivory or pale celedon green yarn with a soft blue or pink liner.   I would recommend pre-washing the finished blanket and lining fabric before stitching them together.
