Free Crochet Hat Patterns

These adorable free crochet hat patterns are very sweet and unique homemade baby gift ideas.

This first little crochet baby bonnet is designed to match the Matinee Coat, which is another great free baby crochet patterns. Both are worked in a stitch called crazy pattern. The instructions for Crazy Pattern and a close up are available here on the Matinee Coat instructions.

I can see this little baby bonnet also done up more casually with chain stitched ties, and a big pom-pon on the point. Can't you just envision some perfectly plump little cheeks peeking out from this sweet hat?

The stitch tension should be worked to produce about 3 patterns in width to 2 inches. The treble stitches should measure approximately 1/2 inch in height.
