Free Cross Stitch Patterns
Make something special just for baby with one of these adorable free cross stitch patterns!
I am excited to share my free cross stitch designs collection. Scroll down to lots of borders and repeating pattern charts, with links to full page patterns to print or save. These free cross stitch charts are the perfect size for a burp cloth, quilt square, blanket, bib, or for embellishing baby's clothing. Some of the patterns are designed by me, but most are adapted from antique cross stitch books that are not longer in print.
Please feel free to use these for your own non-commercial use or to share these with others with a link back to my site.
Be sure to check out the rest of the free cross stitch pattern collection including a page of beautiful repeating patterns, baby and nature designs, and alphabets and monograms.

Addies Tips: Cross stitch is a fast and fun way to add some color and your own handmade touch to baby's things. Once you get a feel for embellishing with cross stitch, you can play around with your own color selections, and even combine two separate patterns into one. You could, for example, stitch a border onto a burp cloth and add baby's monogram centered in the border.
Cross Stitch patterns may be worked on traditional cross stitch count fabrics, or directly onto cotton, linen, silk, or even pre-made clothing. I am told that the patterns may also be adapted for use with an embroidery machine with certain software.
When adding a cross stitched design to a two sided item like burp cloths and blankets, it works best if the pattern is stitched on a separate larger piece of fabric, and then appliqued in place and edged out in ribbon or rick-rack.
